Let’s face it. It takes a lot of money to buy a home in Massachusetts. There may be infomercials on late at night that tell you that you can buy a home for $792.00 if you use their system but in the real world, most people, need to get financing. That can be a bank, credit union, mortgage broker, VA loan, private financing or a number of other possibilities but in the end most people get a loan to purchase real estate. Chip and Chris Poli started Poli Mortgage Group in 2001 after having been in the business working for Mortgage Master for 10 years. As you’ll read in the posted articles, Chip was a strong-willed, self-starter who fell in love with the mortgage business. He thrived on helping people, earning their trust and respect while making money at the same time. In fact, he joined the ranks of the top 10 Mortgage Brokers in the country starting in 1996 and became the #1 Mortgage Broker in the country in 1999. Enamored with his new found success and how elated he was with his career, Chris joined him in 1998 as an apprentice. While helping him manage his business, Chris was able to learn all about the mortgage world from the best. In 2001, Chip and Chris decided to go out on their own. They left Mortgage Master and started Poli Mortgage Group. “Many of our good friends have since joined us from all different careers. All wanting some of the ‘juice’ that they saw Chip & I enjoying,” says Chris Poli. “Soon enough, we had our own underwriting department, closing department and a slew of loan originators. We are now 70 people strong, have relationships with 60+ banks, and in 2005 wrote over $1 billion in loans.”
